Highland High School is warning families about Instagram posts that use AI-altered images to mock students from other schools, according to the school’s newsletter for Oct. 26-31, 2026. The school said some posts may cross into sexual harassment or cyberbullying.

The newsletter said the posts, referred to as “barstool” posts, may target people competing in extracurricular activities that week.

Highland asked parents to discourage participation in the posts, including viewing, following or sharing them, and to encourage removal of posts they may have made or contributed to, according to the announcement. The school said the behavior conflicts with its RAM Attitudes and its vision and mission.

Families with questions can contact Highland Administration, the newsletter said.
