The College of Southern Idaho says the Herrett Center will host a special night of telescope viewing in Twin Falls on Oct. 4 to mark Saturn’s closest approach to Earth in 2026.
According to the college’s event announcement, Saturn will be about 784 million miles (1.26 billion kilometers) from Earth at its minimum distance for the year. The announcement says the event will offer an opportunity to view the planet through the center’s telescopes.
The college lists the Herrett Center as the location and says the event is weather permitting. The announcement does not give a start time, admission cost or contact details specific to the event.
