What the measure does
Today, Idaho law restricts abortion. This measure would create a right to reproductive choices, including abortion before a fetus could live outside the womb, and in certain medical emergencies after that point. It also covers choices such as birth control, fertility care, and care during and after pregnancy.
What the result means for Twin Falls
A no vote means this initiative would not become law. Idaho’s current rules would remain in place.
The state estimates an increase in spending of $3,100 to $7,800 per year for Medicaid care for chemical-abortion complications; the measure has no impact on income, sales, or product taxes.
What happens next
These results are unofficial. They become final when election officials certify them at the canvass, and totals can still change a little as remaining mailed and provisional ballots are counted.
