College of Southern Idaho Athletics announced Nov. 2 in Twin Falls that eight Golden Eagles women’s soccer players received All-Region 18 honors, including the Region 18 Goalkeeper of the Year award for a CSI player, according to the college’s announcement.
The college said CSI reached the top 20 in the NJCAA National Poll and made its first postseason appearance this season. The goalkeeper finished the regular season with a 0.81 goals-allowed-per-game average, seven clean sheets and 52 saves in 14 appearances, according to the announcement. The college also said the goalkeeper helped secure back-to-back 1-0 shutout wins over nationally ranked USU-Eastern and Salt Lake, making eight saves across the two games.
According to CSI Athletics, two players earned All-Region First Team recognition, two were named to the Second Team and three to the Third Team, in addition to the goalkeeper award. The first-team honorees included a defender who started 14 games and a midfielder who recorded six goals and five assists, the college said.
The college said the second-team honorees each scored five or more goals. CSI Athletics said the team will look to build on its season in the Scenic West.
