College of Southern Idaho Athletics announced that women’s soccer goalkeeper Avery Charlesworth was named Scenic West Goalkeeper of the Week after helping the Golden Eagles secure their first conference-tournament berth with two road victories, according to the announcement published Oct. 26. The announcement identifies the team as being in Twin Falls but does not give the dates or locations of the two matches beyond describing them as road games.
CSI Athletics said the Golden Eagles needed one win during the week to secure a place in the conference tournament. The goalkeeper held Colorado Northwestern and No. 15 Snow College scoreless as CSI won both games, the announcement said.
The announcement said she made five saves in three halves of play and recorded her fifth and sixth clean sheets of the season. It also reported that she had 42 saves and a 0.81 goals-allowed-per-game average for the year. In October, the Golden Eagles had allowed two goals across six matches, according to CSI Athletics.
The team was scheduled to begin the Scenic West Tournament on Thursday against Snow College in Salt Lake City, with kickoff at 8 a.m., the announcement said. It did not provide a specific calendar date, venue address, ticket price or contact information.
