College of Southern Idaho Athletics said Tuesday, Oct. 13, that its women’s soccer goalkeeper was named Scenic West Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after helping CSI earn two 1-0 wins over USU-Eastern and Salt Lake.
The announcement said the award followed two shutouts in the Golden Eagles’ final two regular-season home games. The goalkeeper made eight saves across the games, including five on Thursday against USU-Eastern, when saves early in the second half kept the game tied before CSI scored on a penalty kick later in the half, according to the college.
College of Southern Idaho Athletics reported that the goalkeeper had started 10 games this season, made 31 saves and recorded a 0.91 goals-allowed average after the weekend.
The Golden Eagles are scheduled to finish the regular season with four consecutive road games, beginning Thursday with a game against North Idaho, the announcement said.
